Dr. Amy Hayek had a clear vision of what she wanted to achieve when East Coast Equine first opened its doors for business in 2001 -- offer horses the very best care available. With five dedicated employees working at a 36-stall barn facility in St. George, S.C., East Coast Equine has focused its attention on solving problems and keeping horses healthy and functional.

East Coast Equine’s “Hands on Healing” motto has generated much interest in the facility, located just 52 miles northwest of Charleston, S.C. East Coast Equine has a new eight-stall facility in the works, which will broaden its services to customers. Presently working in shared stall space at the Barn at East Coast Equine, Dr. Amy Hayek and her staff soon will conduct business in two barns. Both barns will be equipped for examinations, overnight hospitalizations, medical treatments and more.

East Coast Equine also has plans to offer hyperbaric chamber treatments for horses in the very near future. Currently, only about 20 hyperbaric treatment centers exist in the U.S.Our ambitious drive to be the very best in the equine field is the least we can offer our customers and their precious horses. East Coast Equine’s cutting-edge services appeal to all types of horse owners and trainers:
  • Race horse trainers.
  • Competitive show trainers and owners.
  • Working horse trainers and owners.
  • Casual horse owners.
Our philosophy at East Coast Equine is not about offering cheap services, but, instead, the very best care on the market today. We provide the necessary treatment, as well as preventive treatment. East Coast Equine even specializes in helping owners build a better athletic horse as organizations across the country are making an effort to build safer race tracks.

Different than the rest!

East Coast Equine offers a unique alternative for many horse owners looking to get the best out of their horses. Our preventive care treatment will help your horse reach its optimum potential and live a long, fruitful life. Here is how our preventive care helps get the most out of your horse:
  • Make your horse less prone to injury through regular care and maintenance.
  • Balanced teeth, feet and muscles, along with sound nutrition, make a more athletic horse.
  • Perform check-ups for horses at least every three months for serious riders, and every six months for the rest.
